Eventide H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 brings the H90 algorithm library to one compact pedal
Eventide's H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 combines 74 algorithms from the H90 and H9 Max libraries with ARM processing, more than 1,000 presets, direct pedal editing, modern routing, and USB-C control.
Eventide has released the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2, rebuilding its compact multi-effects pedal around the processing architecture used by the larger H90. The new model includes 74 algorithms from the H90 and H9 Max libraries, covering pitch shifting, delay, reverb, modulation, granular effects, vocal processing, synthesis, and combination effects within a single-algorithm-at-a-time format.
The hardware moves to ARM-based processing with updated converters and adds a larger display, three Quick Knobs, and dedicated Select, Perform, Preset, and Parameter modes. Eventide says every parameter can be edited from the pedal, reducing the original H9's dependence on an app for deeper changes. More than 1,000 presets ship with the unit, and existing H9 presets remain compatible.
For pedalboard and studio routing, the H9 Gen 2 accepts instrument- or line-level signals and supports Wet/Dry and Pre/Post configurations. Two programmable footswitches are joined by HotKnob and HotSwitch macro controls, while true spillover allows effect tails to continue when changing presets. SIFT technology handles the pedal's polyphonic pitch effects.
USB-C connects the pedal to Eventide Control for preset management and updates. MIDI, auxiliary-switch, and expression-pedal connections extend external control, while Eventide has positioned the platform for future algorithms and features. The important limitation is architectural rather than hidden: unlike the dual-engine H90, H9 Gen 2 runs one algorithm at a time, although many of those algorithms combine several effect types.
The $599 price places it in premium multi-effects territory, but the smaller enclosure and direct editing will appeal to players who want Eventide's library without allocating H90-sized pedalboard space. Sweetwater listed the H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 in stock for $599 and B&H also carried it when MusicGearWatch verified US availability on August 11, 2026.
