Edifier MR4.5 adds balanced inputs and wireless playback to the MR range
Edifier's MR4.5 powered monitors pair 80 watts of amplification with balanced XLR and TRS connections, a 4.5-inch mid-bass driver, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, and app-based room controls for compact production setups.
Edifier has expanded its compact MR monitor line with the MR4.5, a powered two-speaker system aimed at home studios, desktop production, and creators who also want convenient wireless playback. The model sits above the smaller MR4 by adding a larger cabinet, broader connectivity, and app-based adjustment while keeping the price within reach of first-time monitor buyers.
Each cabinet combines a 4.5-inch mid-bass driver with a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter. The pair is rated at 80 watts RMS, and Edifier specifies a 50 Hz to 40 kHz frequency range. Balanced XLR and quarter-inch TRS inputs are the important additions for an audio interface or mixer, while RCA and front-panel AUX connections make it easier to share the speakers with consumer sources.
Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC is included for casual listening and reference checks from a phone. Wireless playback is not a substitute for the wired connection during recording, but it makes the MR4.5 more flexible as an everyday desktop system. The Edifier ConneX app provides acoustic-space adjustment and other sound controls without requiring rear-panel switches.
The practical question is how consistently the pair translates mixes compared with established entry-level studio monitors. Its connection set is unusually complete for the announced $249.99 price, and the larger drivers should offer more low-end extension than smaller desktop models. Edifier listed the MR4.5 through its US store and announced Amazon availability when MusicGearWatch verified the launch on August 11, 2026.
