Allen & Heath SQ+ adds more processing and a larger surface to the SQ family
Allen & Heath's SQ+ range keeps the familiar 48-input, 96kHz XCVI platform while adding four RackUltra FX engines, expanded DEEP processing, a larger 9-inch touchscreen, and three console sizes for touring and installed rigs.
Allen & Heath has expanded its SQ digital-mixer family with three SQ+ consoles: SQ5+, SQ6+, and SQ7+. The new models retain the 48-input, low-latency 96kHz XCVI engine that established the original SQ range, but add processing capacity and surface changes aimed at engineers who need more effects and faster access during a show.
The largest functional addition is a set of four RackUltra FX engines with dedicated stereo sends and returns. The processing platform comes from Allen & Heath's dLive system and supports reverbs, pitch tools, vocal tuning, amp modeling, and saturation. SQ+ also gains access to newer DEEP processing options that had previously been associated with the company's higher-tier consoles.
All three frames use a larger 9-inch touchscreen with a darker interface. Connectivity remains broad, including a 128-by-128 SLink port, an expansion slot for Dante, MADI, Waves, or SLink cards, and dual USB connections for recording and computer integration. Frame choice determines the physical I/O and control count: SQ5+ has 17 motorized faders, SQ6+ has 25, and SQ7+ has 33.
SQ+ is especially relevant to venues, production companies, houses of worship, and engineers already invested in SQ workflows. Sweetwater listed the SQ5+ in stock for $4,999 and B&H carried the updated series when MusicGearWatch checked availability on August 11, 2026.
