Novation completes the Launchkey MK4 range with an 88-key controller
The Launchkey 88 MK4 extends Novation's production-controller workflow to a custom semi-weighted 88-note keybed, with nine faders, eight encoders, polyphonic-aftertouch pads, split and layer modes, and broad DAW integration.
Novation has filled the largest gap in its Launchkey MK4 lineup with Launchkey 88, an 88-note MIDI controller built for producers and performers who want full-range playing without giving up hands-on DAW control. Its custom semi-weighted keybed supports split and layer modes, making the board useful for software instruments, multitimbral hardware, and performance setups that need two sounds at once.
The control surface follows the rest of the MK4 family. Eight endless encoders and nine faders handle mixer, instrument, and effect assignments, while 16 velocity-sensitive pads add polyphonic aftertouch for drums, chords, and clip launching. A monochrome OLED display supports Scale and Chord tools, and the onboard arpeggiator includes an eight-step editor with tie, accent, and ratchet controls.
Novation lists custom integration for Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Reason, Bitwig, and Ardour, with HUI support extending basic control to other DAWs. A five-pin MIDI output also lets Launchkey 88 address hardware without relying entirely on USB. The controller is USB bus powered and weighs 8.04 kg.
At a listed US launch price of $489.99, Launchkey 88 enters a crowded full-size controller market. American Musical Supply listed it in stock and Sweetwater included the model in its Novation MIDI-controller catalog when MusicGearWatch checked availability on August 11, 2026.
